Done 1.9.0
Done 1.9.0 adds paid modules. They come with a demo mode from the start: you can open them and see how they work before you buy.
How the demo works
Approvals, Finance, Teams and Leave appear in the navigation with a “pro” badge and open already filled in: sample employees, requests and amounts, so you see how a section looks in use rather than an empty shell. It’s all read-only. The create, edit and delete controls are gone, settings and export too, and if you try to write something Done tells you plainly that this is a demo. If the demo modules get in the way, you can hide them in the settings.
Activation and installation
The license now has its own settings page, visible only to an administrator. You paste the license key here. One thing worth getting right: activation and installation are separate. Activating validates the key, and installing (or reinstalling) the modules is a separate step.
The license panel
Next to it sits a details panel: license status, plan, the key in masked form, the update window, the installed version and the list of modules. You can also see whether the license server is reachable right now, with a link to the service itself. Once a day it checks for updates in the background and re-validates the license. Nothing to do by hand.
Modules don’t switch off on their own
If the license server is unreachable or the license gets revoked, the installed modules stay on. What you paid for keeps working.
A few more fixes: demo entity cards (like the team preview) no longer throw 404s and open in read-only, the demo table column titles got translated, and the Pro version screen stopped resetting on a page reload.
